About Us
The Way of God Church of the Lord Jesus began its Atlanta services in the home of Pastor Tony Smith and family. The first service, which was bible study, was held on January 25, 2003. The Way of God Church of the Lord Jesus started with ten members including Pastor Smith and three visitors. Although few in number, Pastor Smith did not waiver but stood steadfast and preached God’s Holy Word.
After the worship services began to grow, The Way of God Church moved to Emerald Drive in Decatur, Georgia. Within a few months TWOGC relocated to the South Dekalb Office Park on Rainbow Drive in Decatur. TWOGC held worship services at that location for many years before moving to Glenwood Road in Decatur, Georgia to accommodate the growth. During that time it was apparent that TWOGC will continue to grow and it was decided to have a permanent place of worship.
In the Spring of 2010 TWOGC moved once more to a small space to worship located next door to a closed bowling alley. Through the series of relocating over the years, TWOGC has been blessed with a core of members and supporters whose remained with the fold. In 2011, while still searching for a permanent house of worship, TWOGC found a location off Covington Hwy in Lithonia, Georgia. Despite the numerous moves, we trust in the most High and remain focused on the Word. Through it all the Lord has blessed us by increasing our knowledge and understanding and has given us the desire to build Yah a permanent house of worship.
TWOGC has over 100 members consisting of many ethnicities (Belizean, Puerto Rican, Italian, Nigerian and Haitian). Members have uprooted from coast to coast (Florida, California, Texas, Hawaii, and Ohio). There are also members that have moved from other countries such as (Japan and Netherlands). In addition to our members, we have faithful viewers and supporters from across the globe (Ireland, Germany, Japan, India, South Africa, and the Caribbean).
Although we come from different regions of the world we are part of the body of Christ. The body of Christ is made up of different members, as such, so is our congregation. While some of us are natural Hebrews, we are Jews according to religious practices and we live a Holy lifestyle; however, to enter into the kingdom of God we understand that we must all convert into being a spiritual Jew.
The Way of God Church strives to maintain the weightier spiritual connection to God as being Jews and this is illustrated by our obedience to keeping Yah’s commandments. The Way of God Church has truly been blessed by Yah through His precious Son Yeshua.
