Amazing Grace

by: Walter Pennyman

Yes your favorite blogger has returned to give you the pressing news or De-pressing news, according to how you may see your proverbial cup.  During my sabbatical, I had the opportunity to observe the depths of human logic and while I can truly say I’m not surprised by my findings, I must admit that Christian logic never ceases to amaze me.  While trolling around YouTube giving ear to True Men of Yah, I happened upon a comment I felt compelled to explore.  Brace yourselves, as rendition of Amazing Grace is as motivational as it is touching, that is, as long as you remain in the super stupid.

“Amazing Grace will always be my song of praise for it was Grace which brought me liberty. I do not know just why He came to love me so. He looked beyond my fault and saw my need. I shall FOREVER lift mine eyes toward Calvary to view the cross where Jesus died for me. How marvelous His grace that caught my falling soul. He looked beyond my fault and saw my need.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son; that Whosoever believeth on Him should not perish but have everlasting life John 3:16.

Jesus keep me near the cross. There a Precious fountain, Free to All a healing stream flows from Calvary’s mountain IN the Cross IN the Cross be my glory ever till my rapture soul shall find rest beyond the river.

Near the Cross a trembling soul Love and Mercy found me. There the Bright and Morning Star shed His beams around me.

I see a crimson stream of Blood. It flows from Calvary. It’s waves which reach the Throne of God are sweeping over me.” by stephenkiefer

Well, after I managed to remove my shaking head from my hand, my first thought was “this guy must be as old as Methuselah seeing that he ACTUALLY saw the blood flowing, but then marijuana does produce blood shot eyes so that would explain the red he saw.” I enjoy the thought process of how people view Grace.  Knowing that Grace is undeserved favor, it is disheartening to see many Christians believe that it is a pass to live in ways that are unbecoming to the Word of Yah.

John 3:16 has been the Christian mantra since its pagan inception.  How is it that within the entire third chapter of John, only verse 16 is worth repeating over and over? While no portion of the Bible is false this verse has been used to justify a lifestyle of sin and demented behaviors for years. While so much attention is spent on verse 16, amazingly enough verse 19 which condemns the Christian’s logic for using verse 16 is entirely ignored!

Finally, the cross, Oh how sweet is that cross in which they hung my poor Jesus “IN the Cross IN the Cross be my glory. Jesus keep me near the cross”.  Now that we’ve returned from our trip to Mars and we have safely set foot back on Earth; the preacher should have explained to them that the cross was a curse and anyone who hung on it was a cursed. Not only was hanging from a tree a curse (cross) but leaving a person on it all night would bring a curse on the land (America would know about this); so the question therefore becomes how can the cross be your glory and why would you want to stay near it? The answer is simple… sheer ignorance!

People of color in this God forsaken land should be the first ones to shun hanging from anything but instead they are the ones to embrace the idolatry of Catholicism and the cross.  I have heard “Ignorance is bliss” but the law of the land speaks contrary to this by stating, “Ignorance of the law is no excuse”.  I guess when hypocrisy is embedded into your logic it doesn’t matter what you say or what the law is because John 3:16 covers it all.

  1. very well said, no matter what christians do (lie, steal, cheat, murder) John 3:16 covers it all. amazing, simply amazing.

  2. Great blog Walter! Its funny you wrote about this as I was just discussing the plight of the christian state of mind with a co-worker. Its sad that so called believers (in what I dont know) are under the impression that they can live contrary to Yah’s Word and be saved. The way theologians teach this dispensation of grace stuff disgusts me. This is why a preacher can sleep with his members and have no remorse about it. Because he thinks grace covers all. I will give these unfortunate souls credit though, as they are correct when they say “I made a mistake but the Lord knows my heart”. They’re 100% right, Yah does know their wretched hearts and that’s why they have 1st class tickets to hell.

What they miss with John 3:16 is the fact that those who “believeth in Him” have to believe in Him as the scripture has said (John 7:38). But unfortunately they think scripture starts John rather than Genesis and want nothing to do with the “old covenant” as they say “because that was done away with”. They love to quote 2 Cor 5:17 but look stupid when I reply with Romans 6:1. I’m so fed up with so called christians I’m about to start repossessing their Bibles. They ain’t (I know thats not good english lol) using them anyway. Jeremiah the Bible Repo Man, has a nice ring!

  3. “IN the Cross IN the Cross…” this took me back to my Adventist days..lol

Praise Ye Yah in Yeshua’s name! I thank the Lord for eyes to see and ears to hear His Word.

  4. John 3:16 is the written instructions to get into heaven.
    Look at Romans 10:9.
To wait around to be saved is to leave yourself open to the wolves. To contract those scriptures is to blatantly disrespect the fact that Jesus died on the cross to give us that gift. Its as simple as that. Open your eyes, and lets love one another.
